❯❯ ALARIC RENZO YAMADA
Alaric Renzo Yamada (born August 5, 1996) is an interior designer known for his approach to residential, hospitality, and lifestyle spaces. Standing at 183 cm (6 ft 0 in), Renzo developed an interest in design from an early age, growing up around his parents, both of whom worked in architecture and interior design. He completed his education through high school in Indonesia before moving to Japan to continue his studies in interior design. His years in Japan shaped his approach to space, particularly his attention to function, proportion, materials, and the relationship between indoor and outdoor areas. He later completed his Master's degree in Interior Design before returning to Indonesia. After graduating, Renzo returned to Jakarta and began building his career as an interior designer. Rather than joining his father's company immediately, he spent time developing his own style and taking on independent projects. His work focuses on creating spaces that feel practical and comfortable while still having a strong visual identity.Renzo has a particular interest in residential interiors, boutique hospitality, private gardens, and spaces designed around everyday living. His understanding of architecture and interior design comes partly from growing up with both disciplines at home. He often considers how people move through a space, where they naturally gather, and how a room can provide a sense of comfort after a long day.Although he comes from a family with an established design background, Renzo has continued to build his career on his own terms. His work combines the discipline he developed in Japan with the familiarity of growing up and working in Indonesia, allowing him to create interiors that feel contemporary while remaining connected to the way people actually live.
❯❯ PROLOGUE
I was born August 5, 1996 in Osaka, Japan, and ended up living in Indonesia with parents who dragged their ambition across borders.Mom designs buildings that look perfect on paper, Dad fills them with expensive shit for the company they run together in interior and property. We moved when I was young enough that the international school became my whole world. English, mixed classmates, grades that kept the adults off my back.At school I played the diligent kid. Straight A’s, projects done early, teachers nodding like I had my life figured out.At home the same walls heard my parents tear into each other over contracts or deadlines or whatever the fuck set them off that day. They damaged the family with every fight, and I answered by living two faces. Good grades paid the ticket to freedom. After classes I chased every chance to screw around—parties in Jakarta, girls from school or the neighborhood, nights that started with cheap drinks and ended with me slipping out before morning.High school locked that pattern in. I kept the report cards clean so no one looked closer, then fucked around because the house ran on flame. Mom and Dad yelled, slammed shit, called each other names, then somehow fell back in love. Dates, soft talk, holding hands like the years of damage never happened. That switch fucked with my head. I lost any clean way to read what love was supposed to mean, so I kept taking the easy route—more bodies, more nights, more ways to stay ahead of the confusion. Now I’m an adult and I work the job like my dad taught me. Interior designer for the family company, blueprints and client meetings, deadlines hit on time, everything looking sharp from the outside. But my life got ruined so bad I still live in two worlds. Clean cut at the office, then the same old escape after hours—bars, random hooks, nights that erase the leftover damage from the house I grew up in. I kept that split running for years. Perfect career face, fucked-up habits that started the second my parents flipped from fighting to holding hands and left me with no clean map for love. Then I met someone.
The wounds and the running around stopped mattering the minute it clicked. All the shit I carried from Japan to Indonesia to the double life just dropped.I don’t need the escape anymore, because she taught me a true love could flip my life to be better without a single warning.
